Luna Eva: A Unique Theatrical Experience in Mexico City

"Luna Eva" is presented at the Juan Ruiz de Alarcón Theatre, located in the University Cultural Center from January 19 to February 22, 2025, with performances on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 7 pm, and Sundays at 6 pm. The staging, created during the pandemic, invites reflection on love and hope through a unique theatrical proposal that combines narrative, music, and technical virtuosity.

Under the direction of Andrea Peláez González, "Luna Eva" narrates the nocturnal journey of seven passengers in a small boat, guided by the signs of the Moon Eva. Through seven stories inspired by a lullaby, the production evokes lunar cycles and the transformations of life, weaving an emotional metaphor that connects the audience with the essentials of existence.

The show stands out for its narrative and technical and artistic display, which includes acts such as hair suspension, hand-to-hand balance, acrodance, eccentric juggling, pole, aerial silks, and Cyr wheel. Seven performers explore the cycles of life in a space created by Alain Kerriou and with live music by Juan Pablo Villa.

Cirko De Mente presents "Luna Eva," a show that invites audiences on a scenic journey of acrobatics, music, and movement. Guided by talents like Jesús Díaz in clowning, Claudia Loray, and Carlos Blanco in tango, the interdisciplinary proposal of "Luna Eva" presents itself as a collective act of resistance and creativity that celebrates the beauty of life's cycles and the transformative power of love.

In parallel, audiences can enjoy the UNAM Theatre's lineup with works like "Algodón de Azúcar" and "El alma buena de Sezuán," directed by Gabriela Ochoa. Each of these performances offers the audience a unique experience that fuses poetry, skill, and sensitivity in a dreamy universe full of chiaroscuro, symbolism, and beauty.
